One (Exclusive) Drop: Slowtide Just Launched a New Bob Marley Line for Beach Season

The sun is shining and the temperatures are starting to heat up. Just in time for beach treks, festival hangouts, and warmer weather, Bob Marley fans are in for a treat this season: A few months after the Bob Marley biopic One Love premiered, Southern California-based lifestyle and accessories brand Slowtide is keeping the Marley celebration going with a new limited-edition line dedicated to the musical legend.

The company teamed up with the Marley family to create the new line of merch. According to the brand, the Slowtide x Bob Marley collection celebrates the “essence of beach culture, music and the enduring legacy” of the reggae icon. Featuring designs and motifs from Marley’s iconic career, this one (exclusive) drop consists of what the brand has become best-known for with its previously released gear — including seven quick-drying beach towels, a few blankets, and even a changing poncho for surf days — all of which are now available to snag on Slowtide’s site.

“Teaming up with Slowtide echoes my father’s message of unity and harmony, resonating deeply with his global audience,” said Cedella Marley, CEO of Bob Marley group of companies and a Grammy-winning singer, author, and Marley’s daughter, in a release. “This collaboration merges Bob Marley’s uplifting music with the joy and togetherness it brings. Excited to create summer memories with my family in this collection.”

According to Slowtide, the new line marks the first time that the Marley family worked with the company on a line. But along with commemorating Marley’s legacy, the collection also consists of environmentally-friendly materials like sustainably sourced cotton to Oeko-Tex 100-certified materials. If you’ve followed the brand in the past, you know that the new Slowtide x Marley line is hardly its only artist-exclusive collaborations. The company previously dropped collections for artists and groups, from the Grateful Dead to Wu-Tang to the Beatles.
